What is our work?
This week we continued our exploration of what it means to be a generous church.
We are also exploring what it means to have an abundance mindset in a world where so many have a scarcity mindset. This week we asked the question, “what work does God have in store for these ten acres— for the people called Shepherd’s Community United Methodist Church?”
And the answer was clear— we are called to love and lead the world towards a God that created them with care. We get to remind the whole world that Jesus came and lived among us so that we might have a way to live in union with God and one another.
These ten acres have been set aside to show the whole world that this church is here for them. We also talked about how our money is spent and why. We also talked about where that money comes from and about our partnership with the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church. We talked about how the whole conference believes in the mission of this church and is investing in that mission in real and tangible ways.
